This may sound a weird combination, but it originated in Mexico where they also add chilli to it! Something magical happens when avocado is blended with chocolate – together these wonderful ingredients make a delicious chocolate dessert with rich flavours. It has a smooth texture and a long-lasting taste on your tongue – you will be shouting for more!

Serves:                                 2

Preparation Time:             15-20 minutes

Cook Time:                         No cook, just chill!


o   1 large ripe avocado

o   2tbsp milk

o   2tbsp honey (you can add more for extra sweetness)

o   2 drops vanilla extract

o   2tbsp cocoa powder

o   Grated chocolate or crumbled chocolate flake to garnish

o   Optional – A few fresh raspberries or any soft berry to compliment the mousse


Make sure that your avocado really is ripe. Cut in half, twist to separate and remove the stone.

Scoop out the flesh and place in the blender. Add the honey, cocoa powder, vanilla and milk, blending until everything is combined and very smooth. Have a taste – if you want more sweetness, add a little more honey and gently blend again.

Put into bowls and chill until ready to serve. Just before serving, top with grated chocolate or flake and decorate with the berries.
