Pomegranates are highly nutritious, but they can be a challenge to use in a smoothie, as the seeds can give off bitter flavors if they’re broken down too much. To avoid this, use the juice instead.
You can buy juice, or make your own by scooping out the flesh and seeds into a sieve, placing this over a bowl and pressing the juice through (placing a saucer with something heavy on top of it into the sieve and leaving it overnight for the juices to run out saves on muscle power). Using it with blueberries gives you a really good dose of nutritional goodness.
o 1 cup blueberries
o 1 ripe banana
o 1½ cups pomegranate juice
o 1tsp of honey
Blend all of the ingredients, tip into your favorite smoother container and enjoy!
