A deep flavored sauce that goes well with pasta but also with a good steak and mushrooms! Can also be spread on a pizza base before adding your toppings.
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes plus (the more you cook the sauce, the more it reduces and thickens)
o 1 medium sized can chopped tomatoes
o ½ large white onion, chopped
o 1 red sweet pepper, deseeded and chopped
o 1 clove garlic, minced
o ½tsp smoked paprika
o ½tsp chilli powder
o Pinch of salt
o 1tbsp vegetable oil
Fry onion, garlic and pepper in oil until soft but not brown.
Add other ingredients, turn heat down and simmer for 10 minutes
Pour into the blender and blitz until smooth. Alternatively, leave a few chunks of the pepper in the mix for a more textured sauce.
